I had a really interesting idea… (and I’m sure others have had this idea as well, but I wanted to try this out myself)
WordPress’s “new” block editor has kind of changed the game, making it more inline with the user-friendliness of competitors like Wix and Squarespace. But man does it still carry a lot of weight.
Cloudflare has been offering free static asset hosting for a while now, and their Workers platform is both stable and really affordable.
What if there was a stupid-simple way to build with the WP block editor and have your pages exported directly to Cloudflare? You wouldn’t really need a web server. WordPress can be installed locally, on your or any computer, and all you’d need is a Cloudflare account.
Maybe there’s something in the pipeline to make [publishing to] the web even more accessible…
